FlappCast Episode #86 – Jackie Kashian, Queen Enchantress of The Dork Forest

Jackie Kashian has a half-hour special on Comedy Central and has appeared on CBS, NBC, and the Nationally syndicated Radio/TV show Bob And Tom. She has been a national touring comic for over 14 years and has performed at the HBO Comedy Arts Festival, the Bumbershoot Arts Festival in Seattle, Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal and has toured Australia for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow. This year she travelled to Kuwait and Iraq and performed for the troops.

Comedian Nate Bargatze’s resume is nothing to laugh at. Born and raised in Old Hickory, Tennessee, he’s been following in his father’s footsteps on the long road to entertainment. Bargatze’s 2007 television debut on “CMT Comedy Stage” catapulted him into the world of comedy, as he was given his own “Comedy Central Presents” special and invited to perform on “Conan” three times. He has written for Spike TV’s Video Game Awards and received critical acclaim at the Montreal Comedy Festival. When he isn’t winning comedy festivals in both New York and Boston, or performing at Bonnaroo, he might just be performing for troops in Iraq, which he has done Five times. But before all that wonderful wackiness, Kyle Chrise promotes the upcoming The Fastest Joke In The West comedian battle show at Flappers. During Punch It Up, Jordan Leer performs a 3 minute set and gets critiques.

Based on demand, Shawn’s live stand-up performances continue to extend worldwide from the U.S to Singapore, Canada, Japan, and the Middle East, as well as to universities nationwide. Most recently, Shawn and a team from Hawaii- “ALOHA PLATE”- casted in Season 4 of “The Food Network’s No.2-ranked reality show, “The Great Food Truck Race.” The season will premiering on Aug 18, 2013 – Finale on Sept 29 2013. The “ALOHA PLATE” food truck ended up winning the Season Four Competition-the finale of which was held in Washington, D.C–and Shawn and his team are currently starting up their own food truck business, with the goal of franchising and expanding their brand once they acquire more trucks. The Original “Aloha Plate” food truck that entered “The Great Food Truck Race” competition will stay in Irvine, CA.

Amir K is one of the fastest rising young comedians in Los Angeles today. Born in Tehran, Iran and raised in Southern California, his comedy is a hilarious blend of character work, storytelling and improvisation shaped by a multi-cultural upbringing. Amir has been featured on DFDTV’s live-laughs and has won the 100 comic Ultimate Laff-Down XVIII stand-up competition in Orange County. Amir K has most recently won OC’s Funniest stand-up competition and was a finalist in NBC’s 2010 Stand-Up for Diversity Showcase. In 2011 he did a world tour of his critically acclaimed one man show ‘Letters From Mindy’. He has also appeared on numerous Stand Up television programs and panel shows throughout Europe, Canada and the Antipodes.
